Rarely has there been a Rabbi who has been both a Torah scholar and teacher of note, congregational Rabbi par excellence, passionate Zionist and Israeli army veteran, and active participant in the political, ethical, and military battle against South Africa’s Apartheid regime

A master of the holy texts, music, and even sports, with an open home for all, who loved and treated all human beings equally, took pride in the Jewish people as the nation chosen to inspire the world, and raised generations of students and followers who credit him with their chosen path in life.

A man of the book, the nation, the world, and all mankind all in one.

If this description can be applied to anyone, it is surely our precious father, of blessed and righteous memory, Rabbi Ben (Avraham Benzion) Isaacson, who passed away after a long illness in Johannesburg on Dec 7, 2020.
